Hello friends,
Please let me know what could be alternate to medical transcription if someone having 6-7 years of experience in this field. I have spent 7+ years in medical transcription, but due to my health problems, I want to change my profession. Depending on the valuable inputs, I will take a decision and will try to shape up my career. I hope this article should not disturb those who are enjoying their job a lot and my intention is not to hurt anyone, but expecting a direction that should encourage me and I should appreciate.

go for medical coding... no listening... only see the diagnosis, check the book, and fill the cpt code... nowadays you can check this online... but the downside is there is no hbt and the starting salary can be low at 15K, but then will rise depending on your capacity

This sounds okay to me and you seem to have very clear thought; thanks for your kind reply. Actually in the present job, I have some problems with the management in terms of salary and for that reason also I wanted to leave the field entirely. As you seem to have better knowledge than I have, I request you to kindly direct me to some MT institutions where I can do evening shift job from around 6 p.m. and there would be prompt payment, less penalty, etc. Actually, I do not have any idea regarding the rates per line for DU, please also make me aware about the same. Presently, I am working as a direct uploader, doing 800 lines per night and getting 80 paisa per line (65 characters excluding headers and footers) in the night shift. Please guide me for better payment if possible.

First of all, be clear what you want to pursue...whether to continue in this field or not..changing your mind like this won't work out

The best option for every MT is Escription. The VRS quality is simply superb and there are a few companies in this forum who offer more than Re. 1.25 for editing and double that for trans. Offline trans work is not gainful and the remuneration is pathetic. So if you have quality.. go for Escription only
